Maybe some DNS is cached, but I doubt it.
If the difference between 500Mbps and 512Kbps is just a factor 5…then something is really wrong.
As the settings suggests a factor 1000 difference…but it’s not. Meaning you should have expected just 0,5~1 req/sec.
Meaning the load isn’t properly devided between big and small servers. Ergo, it can overload small routers.
Same as others seen too. If your measurements are not cache based.
Please continue your measurements Steve, as it shows the problem of deviding load between servers if few country servers are registered.
See my own server, high load is 6Mbps, then set back to 512Kbit, it shows same sort of high load for low speed.
