Hi Medowar,
It make sense that they are using 2.europe.pool.ntp.org. Fritz!Box devices are very popular in Austria and maybe in other countries like Switzerland too. So they have one common setup for complete DACH area. How is it, even if using 2.europe.pool.ntp.org. it should be taken the server “near” the own position, isn’t it ? Therefor maybe some parts of Bavaria could use Austrian NTP server as they are neighbours. But when I look at the map complete Germany is covered. Or is my understanding wrong ?
BTW: based on my last approximation about two of three parts of the traffic are coming from Germany even if adding the partly massive attacks from the Asian area.
Kind regards
Hans

Hello Hans,
no, europe currently does not use location based results, it returns any server from the region, so any server from europe. I did a testquery and recieved one from france, one from hungary, one from norway and one German server.
Yes, me too. A single shoot gave me 2 German, one Czech and one Hungarian. And no Austrian done here in Austria.

Dear All,
The result for looking in German Atlas probes for 2.europe.pool.ntp.org is really straight forward if I grep out the entries for AT. Not so the traffic I see from Germany Here the result from 50 probes shrinked to unique entries. Of course IPv6 only. Maybe some are missing if they do not have a reverse lookup entry.
