IPv6 addresses for new vendor zone are not responding

Hi folks,

I registered a new vendor zone ‘navix’, and it was activated about a month ago.
However, it seems that the hostnames for “{0,1,2,3}.navix.pool.ntp.org” are still not responding.

    0.navix.pool.ntp.org
    1.navix.pool.ntp.org
    2.navix.pool.ntp.org
    3.navix.pool.ntp.org

Could you kindly let me know if I might have missed something or if there is anything further I should do?
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Thank you

Just to confirm, if you go to https://manage.ntppool.org/ and select the “NTP DNS Zones” menu option, do you see “Status: Approved” in there?

Addendum for reference: Looks like navix.pool.ntp.org without the number prefix works.

Yes, I have checked and the status shows Approved.

I also verified that navix.pool.ntp.org has been working since the day the zone was approved.
Only the hostnames with the number prefix are not responding.

For some years by default new zones are just setup with one name (as outlined in the setup email). For most modern use cases this gives a better service, reply to that email if you need something else and we can change it!

I guess IPv6 doesn’t fit into “most modern use cases”?

I am baffled why IPv6 is so discriminated against by pool.ntp.org.

Should new zones not default to including both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses? Ie. the equivalent of the current 2.pool.ntp.org. Surely for a new zone that is the best time to do it.

Thanks for your reply. I was confused by the guides from here, which says:

we will set you up with special hostnames, for example 0.vendor.pool.ntp.org, 1.vendor.pool.ntp.org, 2.vendor.pool.ntp.org and 3.vendor.pool.ntp.org.

I sent you an email about ‘2.navix.pool.ntp.org’. Thanks!

Hi, I apologize for following up again.
We also have users waiting, so I would like to inquire about the progress regarding the 2.navix.pool.ntp.org (IPv6) registration. I haven’t received a response to my previous email, so I’m reaching out here once more.
