No active monitors for new server?

Hi, I added a new server to the pool 3 days ago. In the meantime the score has climbed slowly above 10, it is included in the pool and all seems fine, except that there are no active monitors on the status page. There is the expected long list of candidates, a short list of testing monitors, an overall score of nearly 20, but zero active monitors. Is this normal?

Hi @Maurice – thanks for posting this. When the system was struggling with the database updates I lowered the frequency of testing probes and I think that caused the algorithm for promoting from testing to active to not accumulate enough data. I adjusted the system settings now and will fix the calculations to not get into this situation again; or at least log better if it happens.

It should rectify itself in the next 6-12 hours.

Thanks @ask

I have the same problem here after an IP change, which forced me to re-register my server again and drop the old IP.

It’s going slowly (after >24h only 1 active monitor) but it’s working.

Thanks for fixing it.

@Maurice Thanks for reporting it! I needed another tweak to the code too in addition to my config change, I think. At least it looks like it continued adding “active” servers now.

(I’ve been staring at bit on the metrics that sub-system generates and trying to figure out why this problem wasn’t more apparent and how I can fix that).
