I’ve observed that on the production site, someone/something periodically adds the new monitors to monitor existing NTP servers every few weeks or so, but this does not seem to happen on the beta site. The new monitors seem to monitor only those servers that were added after the monitor was added.
As an aside, more beta monitors from the Nordics would be welcome. I’d like to keep an eye how my home stratum 1 server is doing and currently the nearest monitors are from Germany. Or if there are closer monitors, I’m not seeing them monitoring my server, for the above reasons.
The pool server you mention doesnt show many monitors at all. While score looks ok, the global points are 0 (zero). Kinda sus.
My recently added server: 2a02:a46d:7ac:1:f690:eaff:fe00:be00 (beware: production environment, not beta) shows many more.
Is that related to difference between IPv4 and IPv6 server monitoring and/or production vs. beta?
Newly added NTP servers get monitored by all the available monitors instantly, both in production and beta, regardless of protocol version.
Edit for clarity: NTP servers and monitors are separate between production and beta sites. Any servers or monitors added on the production site do not get automatically added to the beta site (by design). Any additions to the beta site must be made by server operators themselves. Therefore production and beta will always show a different set of NTP servers and monitors.
My own recently added server in beta: pool.ntp.org: Statistics for 45.115.225.48 – 57 monitors (including my own 9 monitors in paused state as the server being monitored is also mine)
