Htpdate server retiring?

I noticed that the htpdate server is about to be retired:

Is there anyone here who knows about this and would like to comment?

Never heard of this protocol. Might be an interesting read. Isn’t there a way to contact the webmaster to learn why this server is leaving the pool?

Apparently his name is Eddy Ververst:

UPDATE: the server is operated from home behind a fixed IP address from Freedom ISP. He’ll me moving soon to another place and will loose that address and isn’t sure if he will bring up a new server, because of other priorities. In a way that’s sad, because this particular pool instance was rather unique, but I get it.
