On https://status.ntppool.org/ I see two DNS graphs: βπ³π½π πππππππβ and βπΏπππ π³π½π πππππππβ, and Iβm not sure I understand the difference between the two.
If anyone could shed some light on this, it would be much appreciated.
My best bet:
DNS Queries = number of queries per second averaged over 5 minutes
Peak DNS Queries = number of queries during the busiest second within those 5 minutes

yes, correct! They are both somewhat smoothed out all the same, in particular in the longer date range views (due to how the status page API works). The actual peaks are usually several times higher.
Depending on the data source weβre in the top 20-30 of most queried domains in the world.
