Translation Missing Sections

Hey,

While reviewing the existing Spanish version, I noticed a few areas that appear to be missing translations. Specifically, I found untranslated sections within “translators.html” and for the header buttons “JOIN THE POOL,” “USE THE POOL,” and “MANAGE SERVERS.”

I believe translating these parts would significantly enhance the user experience for Spanish speakers. I understand from the documentation that “The rest are either only provided in English or translated via the .po files,” and I’m unsure if these specific sections fall under that category.

Could you please let me know if it would be possible for me to help with these translations? I’m eager to contribute.

Hey and welcome

Sure, you can!
Please take first a look on the beta site. It will get the changes first: https://web.beta.grundclock.com
Ask done some translations in the past with AI. You can take a look for the latest spanish here: i18n(es): update Spanish translations · abh/ntppool@eed3959 · GitHub

If you want check the pool.ntp.org: the internet cluster of ntp servers (Beta)
You will need

  • a github account
  • fork the repo
  • do the chnaged
  • and finally start a pull request for your changes.
The changed will be merged into the repo and later pushed on the beta site.

Hope that help
Andreas

Thanks for your response.

Do you have in mind adding support for translations for website parts like /translators.html or /dns-server.html?

If you do not mind, I can integrate this into the translation system and add the Spanish translation to it.

Hi @felicabrera – as @apuls said the beta site have updates I did recently.

For /dns-server.html I’m a little worried the information might get out of date; though now with LLMs it’s more likely I’ll be able to keep it updated with small changes.

For /translators.html the concern was the same; and my logic was that you have to be able to read an English page with instructions to help translate anyway so it’s unclear if it’s helpful to translate that page.

It’d be great to have a review of the spanish translation on the beta site.

Hi @ask, I’m worried that /vendors.html is already out of date. The procedure described doesn’t seem to work. I know because I followed it a long time ago, and it led to a dead end.
