Lowlatency kernel for ntp (or not?)

Ubuntu has a “lowlatency” kernel flavor. Does it make sense to use that for ntp servers?

Looks like it depends on your hardware configuration. On a multi-core system, single-threaded ntpd can just stick with a core and save from context switching, so there may be little use of low latency kernel flavors.


On the other hand, maybe my outdated Celeron 1G can benefit from rebuilding the kernel to enable low latency, but I am too lazy to do this… :sweat_smile:
